MY STORY

Woman owned and founded The Still Life is a multi-disciplinary design studio located in Vancouver BC.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest I started creating at a very young age. My mother taught me to sew at the age of six by repairing small tears in my clothes with a needle and thread. My journey creating continued to blossom as I grew up eventually taking me through University earning my BFA from Emily Carr University of Art & Design.
Creating The Still Life was sparked in 2024 when I was drawn back to my roots as an artist and found that the medium I loved most was fiber and sewing.
This spark of inspiration quickly became a bigger vision to contribute to the conversation of redefining how we perceive the value of our clothing by bringing new life to up-cycled vintage and antique fabrics. Whilst also contributing to the reduction of textile waste and its impact on our planet.
I believe in slow fashion that honours individuality and nostalgia. That there is something incredibly special in the beloved inanimate. My hope is to create pieces that evoke joy and become everlasting keepsakes for those that find them.
